ULTRA BREAKE M®
DESCRIPTION

Ultra Breake M is an internal filter cake breaker additive for polymer based drilling, completion, or workover fluids. Ultra Breake M serves first as a fine, inert particle in alkaline brine, solids-laden systems where it subsequently is deposited as an integral part of the filter cake. Secondly, to initiate filter cake removal, a mild acidic soak solution is used to dissolve and activate the Ultra Breake M providing a multiple phase degradation process. Acid hydrolysis by the soak solution, generation of oxygen from the Ultra Breake M, and secondary formation of radicals provide an effective mechanism for polymer de-polymerization. Packaging is in 50 lb fiber drums.

FEATURES
  • Improves filter cake removal in completion operations, especially at temperatures below 190oF
  • Can be used in any alkaline water base fluid containing one or more polysaccharide polymers

ADVANTAGES
  • Reduces the time required for polymer degradation by 60% or more
  • Does not adversely affect the rheological properties of a Thixsal-Ultra® system
  • Weak acid, i.e. 1% HCI, can be used to activate Ultra Breake M reducing the risk of corrosion from the more concentrated acids typically used
